There is a lot of excitement regarding the arrival of Myles Garrett, but he admits he has yet to speak to Los Angeles Rams legend Aaron Donald.

The arrival of Myles Garrett is exciting enough for the Los Angeles Rams, but it has brought along another bombshell. For months, there has been speculation that Aaron Donald might end his retirement, though he has shot those down plenty of times.

Now, Donald has indicated there could be a possibility that he may consider returning to the Rams. Garrett was asked about his relationship, but he admitted he has yet to speak to the Los Angeles legend, especially regarding a potential return.

During one of many Garrett interviews, he was asked if he had the chance to speak to Donald yet.

"Haven't talked yet, but definitely expect to talk soon," Garrett said. "Uh I don't know what his plans are and uh not gonna pretend to know. I know a lot of people are excited, uh and uh thrilled about the idea of him coming back..."

Garrett not only admitted that the pair have not talked, but he also let it be known that he has no idea what Donald's plans are. While there could be a situation in which the new Rams defender does know, he may not be willing to share that information.

Donald's wife took to social media to indicate that the idea of her husband coming out of retirement is "hilarious."

The X post went immediately viral. Donald was also on Cam Heyward's "Not Just Football" podcast, where he stated he had "no interest" in playing anymore.

"People ask me that all the time, 'You sure you don’t want to play?' I’ll be like 'To be honest with you, I have no urge to play football no more,'" Donald said. "Sometimes in the back of my head I be like, 'Do I want to go out there again?' I think about it and I’m like 'Nah man.'

The podcast was released three weeks ago, and things have certainly changed since then.

Donald reportedly texted NFL insider Jordan Schultz on June 2 and pointed to a different idea of returning.

"I’m for sure flirting with the idea. Helluva an opportunity with the Super Bowl in SoFi this year. If I can find the fire, it’s a possibility," Donald reportedly said.

There are not plans in place for his return, but there are certainly a lot of rumblings that Garrett being traded for lead to Donald suiting back up.

Regardless, Garrett spoke about being able to learn from Donald when they get a chance to truly talk.

"Just being able to talk to him uh learn from him and uh know I'll take all the advice I can. Know he's a great one for a reason. So know just trying to get him in here talking to you know, the guys, especially the defensive line, that can mean a lot and if we can take anything know from I think it would uh help uh help our game," Garrett said.

Garrett is showing some humility, indicating that he would love to take in the advice that Donald would offer him. The new Rams pass rusher remains one of the best at the position, if not the best.

Garrett set the NFL sack record with 23 in 2025. He also has 125.5 sacks through nine years, and he admitted to wanting to break the 200 sack record, which was set by Bruce Smith.

Should Donald come back, Garrett might get another chance to be super productive in 2026, but it remains to be seen whether or not the eventual Hall of Famer will return.
