A look at how to watch the Los Angeles Rams take on the San Francisco 49ers to kick off the 2026 season.

The Los Angeles Rams are set to face off against the San Francisco 49ers in a game that is historic for the NFL, as it will be the first played in the country of Australia. With both teams already Down Under, they are now gearing up to play one another.

The Rams are not only kicking off their regular season in another country, but they are also facing off against a divisional rival in a game that could set the tone for the entire season.

That said, here is everything you need to know on how to watch, predictions, and more.

How to Watch

Given the special nature of playing a game in another country and Netflix having the capabilities to stream to a worldwide audience, the game will be exclusively streamed on the platform.

The Rams-49ers game will kick off at 8:35 pm EST, and be streamed on Netflix.

Prediction

This matchup could be one of the biggest of the year, as the Rams and 49ers will likely be battling it out for the NFC West crown at the end of the regular season. That said, San Francisco is heading into the game with a beaten-up roster.

Los Angeles will also be without defensive end Aaron Donald, who was ruled out due to needing more time to ramp back up to playing football. However, the team also has fellow defensive end Myles Garrett, who is "ready to go" after dealing with a nagging knee injury.

This matchup could very well be a defensive back-and-forth, but the Rams still possess more to work with on both sides of the ball.

More

There are some strong storylines to make note of heading into this game. As mentioned above, Garrett will be making his Rams debut, and how he impacts this defense will be important.

Should he be double-teamed, it could lead to far more opportunities for fellow pass rushers like defensive tackle Kobie Turner, Poona Ford, and linebacker Byron Young.

The Rams have also not settled on who will be the WR3 for the season, but that could fall to Jordan Whittington or Konata Mumpfield. Then again, rookie CJ Daniels has also made some noise throughout camp and preseason.

Additionally, it will be interesting to see if the Los Angeles offense leans heavily on 13-personnel again in the same manner the team did in 2025 season.
