The Los Angeles Rams are keeping one of their own, as they have agreed to bring back defensive end Larrell Murchinson on a one-year deal.
The Los Angeles Rams are bolstering their pass rush by bringing back defensive end Larrell Murchison on a one-year deal.
Murchison appeared in 16 games with the Rams in 2025, securing two sacks, eight total tackles, three quarterback hits, and two tackles for loss.
Murchison has been with the Rams since the 2022 season, when he was claimed off waivers by Los Angeles in December of that year. In total, he has brought in four sacks and 45 total tackles since then.
The five-year veteran will remain on the Rams roster, where he can serve in a rotational and backup position as a defensive end.
Murchison began his career with the Tennessee Titans, where he was drafted in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of NC State. With the Titans, he brought in 15 total tackles.
The Rams are ensuring they keep most of the core roster together for another deep playoff run. While Murchison is not a starter, he has worked himself into a strong rotational position, capitalizing on his opportunities with the two sacks and eight total tackles he brought in during the 2025 season.
One of the major strengths of the defense is in the pass rush, which contains defensive ends Braden Fisk, Kobie Turner, tackle Poona Ford, and linebackers Nate Landman, Byron Young, and Jared Verse.
All of these players have melded together in a special way that has kept the Rams' defense very strong. One of the glaring weaknesses for the team was in the secondary, which has already been corrected in a big way with the addition of Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson.
With a strong secondary and the return of Murchison to the defense, everything is coming together in a big way.
The Rams have not had much movement on the free agency front, other than landing both former Kansas City Chiefs cornerbacks. Instead, general manager Les Snead has been bringing back in-house talent, such as Murchison.
Murchison now joins safety Kam Curl, tight end Tyler Higbee, offensive lineman David Quessenberry, and more to keep the potential championship-level roster together.
