Los Angeles Rams defensive end Braden Fiske is ready to bounce back after an injury-plagued 2025 season.
Fiske spoke to the media as training camp commenced and discussed the injury frustrations he endured in 2025. The 26-year-old said his goal is to remain healthy throughout the season.
"That's the number one thing," Fiske said. "I've talked to people about it, last year, showing up to training camp and not feeling like I wanted to feel, but this year, like I said, I got to do the offseason the way I wanted to. I feel great, and yeah, I'm just ready to be healthy. I feel great right now, so let's kind of keep that trend going and we'll work from there."
Although Fiske did not miss a game in 2025, that does not mean he was not hurt.
Entering training camp in 2025, Fiske dealt with a minor knee procedure in the offseason last year following an injury he sustained against the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs.
Fiske was not at 100 percent entering training camp a year ago. Nonetheless, he suited up, but the injuries only piled up there.
The former Florida State Seminole tweaked his oblique in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans, which hampered his early production. Later on in the season, Fiske suffered an ankle issue in December, which caused him to wear a wrap and play through limited practice.
In the meantime, Fiske did not miss a game, playing all 17 and starting 16.
Because Fiske was not 100 percent throughout the season, his numbers dropped significantly compared to his rookie season.
He recorded 30 total tackles, four tackles for loss, 10 quarterback hits, one pass defended, one fumble recovery, and three sacks. Compared to his rookie season, Fiske's sack numbers dropped by 5.5, and he had 14 fewer total tackles.
Fiske’s numbers should rise once again due to health being on his side entering the season and the addition of Myles Garrett.
Garrett should attract a ton of attention, and Fiske is one of many players on defense who will likely benefit from that.
"Obviously last year wasn't my best statistical year, so I had to really go back and do a deep-dive," Fiske said. "I battled some injuries, (but) that was part of the game. That's not an excuse. But I feel great going into the season."
The Rams drafted Fiske in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Los Angeles traded the 52nd overall pick, the 155th overall pick in the 2024 draft, and a second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to move up to the 39th overall spot to select him.
Fiske will enter his third season in the league and he now has a chance to bounce back in a seemingly fully healthy season.
