Multiple key players on the Los Angeles Rams were limited ahead of the matchup with the Buffalo Bills.
The Los Angeles Rams are set to face the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, and there are several players they may be without for the matchup.
During media availability on Thursday, Rams head coach Sean McVay offered updates via the injury report.
Per McVay, cornerback Jaylen Watson, defensive end Aaron Donald, and tight end Colby Parkinson were all limited to start the week.
Watson suffered a dislocated shoulder in Week 3 that led to his missing Week 4. Donald has a back issue that appeared ahead of Week 4, and he was made to rest instead of pushing through the injury.
Parkinson has been dealing with knee and shoulder injuries that also kept him out for Week 4, and he remains working through both ailments.
McVay also revealed that many other players did not practice on Thursday.
Linebacker Grant Stuard (hamstring), linebacker Josaiah Stewart (groin), safety Quentin Lake (hip), linebacker Nate Landman (shoulder), and wide receiver Davante Adams (veteran rest).
The Rams are still operating with a loss at the tight end position, as Terrance Ferguson was placed on IR due to a nagging ankle injury. Parkinson missed Week 4, and being limited does not mean he will miss Week 5, but still being injured is not great.
This leaves Tyler Higbee, Davis Allen, and rookie Max Klare as the healthy options.
Linebacker is also getting a bit thin with backup Stuart dealing with a hamstring, Stewart having a groin injury, and Landman also dealing with a shoulder.
All of their statuses right now do not mean they will not be upgraded by the final injury report on Saturday; it just means that they have currently missed practice.
One of the players that the Rams may need more than others is Donald. The pass rush did experience a big leap in Week 4 as linebacker Byron Young rifled off 2.5 sacks, and helped to seal with the win against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Bills may seek to stop Young, which would open more opportunities for Donald. This is assuming that he is healthy.
Donald is still working his way back to full action after a two-year layoff due to his retirement. Once he gets going fully, he could be a nightmare for offsenses.
That kind of pass rush is needed against a quarterback like Josh Allen, who can gun the ball downfield, but also rushes better than any other passer in the league.
This is just one of three injury reports, and the hope for the Rams is that many of those players are upgraded in the next two days.
