The Los Angeles Rams got a huge win in Week 7, and quarterback Matthew Stafford set some big franchise history in his performance.

The Los Angeles Rams picked up a huge win in Week 7, which will now hold even more importance for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Amid Stafford's 195-yard, three-touchdown performance, he set important franchise history.

Stafford is now the franchise leader in passing touchdowns. With the third touchdown pass to wide receiver Puka Nacua, the quarterback passed Rams legend Roman Gabriel.

Stafford is now the sole owner of the passing touchdown record for the organization, and he will continue to raise that number throughout the 2026 season.

Following the team's Week 6 loss, Stafford stated that he would take on the responsibility of playing better amid the multitude of injuries on the roster. He did just that with a sharp performance.

Stafford did have an interception, but it was on a tipped ball play from Colby Parkinson. It was not an outright turnover due to a mistake.

During media availability, Stafford spoke about the milestone.

"Just super appreciative of everyone who helped me do that. Catching touchdowns and throwing touchdowns isn't a one-man job. Takes a lot of people to block, and get open, and coaches to draw plays. It's a cool thing; I didn't know that was going to happen today. Fired up," Stafford said.

The Rams pulled together and dominated the Las Vegas Raiders through three quarters. The Raiders nearly caught up in the fourth, but the defense tightened up to ensure the team got the win.

Los Angeles has had plenty of struggles in 2026, which was evident in their 2-4 start. One of the issues behind the rough start has been injuries.

Defensive end Myles Garrett, wide receiver Puka Nacua, wide receiver Davante Adams, defensive tackle Poona Ford, defensive lineman Kobie Turner, and kicker Blake Grupe have all been out for weeks or are now out for the season.

The Rams' injuries are situational circumstances that they must deal with, but not situations that they can't find their way out of. That was the case on Sunday, especially with Stafford.

Through the first four weeks, Stafford threw six interceptions. He looked inaccurate and off in a way that was not the normal MVP-level of play he produced in 2025.

After those initial interceptions, Stafford did not throw a pick until Week 7, which was on a tipped pass, as stated above. The Rams' signal caller has played some clean football and has been surgical with his throws over the past few games.

That throwing capability was a major reason the Rams offense continued to tack on points through all four quarters.

With the big win behind them, the team must now look to the Los Angeles Chargers, who they will face in Week 8. Despite the Chargers being winless, they should not be underestimated.

Los Angeles' schedule does them no favors, and one win is not enough to ensure they can challenge for the NFC West crown.
