Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garret is the top-ranked player by his peers, as he has landed at No. 1 in the NFL Top 100.
It was already established that the Los Angeles Rams had three players in the top 10 of the NFL Top 100 list. Wide receiver Puka Nacua came in at No. 7, and quarterback Matthew Stafford came in at No.4, leaving only defensive end Myles Garrett.
Garrett had a stellar 2025 season, in which he broke the single-season sack record by bringing in 23 sacks. Considering his elite level of play and the fact that he now owns one of the biggest records in the NFL, his peers have ranked him No. 1.
The full NFL Top 100 list has now been revealed, including the top 10. Though Stafford at No. 4 was known, the players above him were not revealed initially.
Garrett has beaten out Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson (3), and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (2) to land the top spot.
The Rams defensive end was No. 8 in the 2025 list, and has now risen to take the top spot.
Garrett was also named Defensive Player of the Year for his efforts in 2025, adding more to his already extensive list of accolades.
Following the blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Browns that sent Garrett to Los Angeles in June, he can now potentially compete for a Super Bowl.
The Rams have been labeled a Super Bowl favorite for months, even before Garrett was traded, considering how well-built the roster is. General manager Les Snead also improved the secondary by bringing in former Kansas City Chiefs cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, which was the weakest defensive unit in 2025.
The moves made by Snead and the front office were to combat teams like the Seattle Seahawks, who ended the Rams' Super Bowl hopes in the NFC Championship Game.
Additionally, adding Garrett was already a move that many believe will push Los Angeles to another level.
That is not to mention the fact that the Garrett trade also pushed Aaron Donald into coming out of retirement. Now, on paper, this Rams defense appears to be unstoppable.
Garrett set the single-season sack record with 23, but he also had a 21 percent pass rush win rate, per ESPN analytics. Additionally, Donald had a 20 percent pass rush win rate during his final season in 2023.
Garrett will assuredly benefit from the great pieces on the Rams defense, as will Donald, Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, Poona Ford, and many others.
Garrett has not played for a defense with this much talent in his career thus far, and he could very well rise even higher than 23 sacks in 2026 as a result, and he may be the first player to land a back-to-back No. 1 spot come 2027.
