The Los Angeles Rams have now placed tight end Terrance Ferguson on IR, knocking him out for four games.

The Los Angeles Rams have now placed tight end Terrance Ferguson on IR (injured reserve), which will knock him out for at least the next four regular-season games.

Ferguson has been dealing with an ankle injury that he aggravated in Week 3, which will now result in his having to miss multiple games. The Rams also announced multiple other roster moves.

Losing Ferguson is a big hit to the offense, including the team's ability to run 13-personnel. The young tight end was starting to emerge as a strong target for quarterback Matthew Stafford, but his ankle appears to have taken a turn for the worse.

Los Angeles might also be without Colby Parkinson, who is currently questionable. Should Parkinson not make the game, the team will have Tyler Higbee, Davis Allen, and rookie Max Klare.

In addition to placing Ferguson on IR, the Rams also announced that wide receiver Alex Bachman and defensive end Larrell Murchison have been signed to the active roster from the practice squad.

Bachman is expected to take over punt return duties after the team waived wide receiver Xavier Smith. Smith continued to have issues on special teams, and head coach Sean McVay stated that waiving the receiver was in the "best interest" of the team.

With Smith gone and Ferguson on IR, that left two roster spots open. Those now go to Bachman and Murchinson.

Murchinson was also elevated to give the defense a boost in the pass rush department, as Aaron Donald is now out due to a back injury.

Donald appeared on the injury report earlier this week, and McVay stated he was dealing with some "soreness." That soreness led to the defensive end missing consecutive practices and being ruled out earlier on Friday.

McVay stated that Donald's back was causing too much discomfort, leading to his not being able to play in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Rams head coach also stated that it would be "irresponsible" to put the defender in.

The good news for the Rams roster is that wide receiver Puka Nacua is "good to go" and will make his return to the field after missing the last two games due to a hip injury.

Nacua should add some strong balance to the Rams' offense, even with the loss of Ferguson.

The Rams are currently 1-2 and are now set to face the 2-1 Eagles with some key players out. How they respond will matter a great deal in Week 4, as they look to not drop to 1-3 in 2026.
