Los Angeles Rams tight end Davis Allen was carted to the locker room with an apparent significant injury.

UPDATE:

Tight end Davis Allen is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return, per the Rams' official social media.

The Los Angeles Rams are taking on the San Francisco 49ers, and the team has been hit with several significant injuries.

The first was linebacker Omar Speights, who left for the locker room in the first half of the game. It was later revealed that he suffered a hip injury. Additionally, safety Kam Curl also left the game with an ankle injury, and now tight end Davis Allen has been hit with something significant.

Allen caught the ball late in the third quarter for a first down, but the catch led to him being pushed out of bounds by a 49ers defender. Following the incident, the Rams tight end was visibly shaken up.

Allen was seen walking with the training staff back to the sideline, and he immediately went into the blue medical tent.

After many minutes in the blue medical tent, Rams reporter Stu Jackson reported that the tight end was being carted to the locker room. There are no details on the type of injury that the tight end suffered just yet.

Losing Allen will heavily impact the Rams' ability to run 13-personnel, which they have been running a bit in the game to deal with the swarming 49ers defense.

Los Angeles does have a pretty stacked tight end room, but the team also chose to make rookie tight end Max Klare inactive for the game. This leaves Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee as the healthy options on the roster.

The Rams' passing offense has been rough throughout the entire game, and quarterback Matthew Stafford has been unable to get things going. That is especially true for the tight end room, as Allen is one of the only players in the unit who has been involved in the passing game.

More tests will persumably be done to determine what happened to Allen and the extent of his injury but being carted to the locker room is never a good sign for any player. The hope for the Rams is they get some good news on all three of their injured players: Speights, Curl, and now Allen being added to that list.
