The Los Angeles Rams definitely have some changes to make as they head into Week 2 after having a very tough outing against the San Francisco 49ers.

While the Rams did not play up to their standard, they still have an opportunity to bounce back, and with the talent they have on this roster, that is quite possible. However, Los Angeles will have to respond without star edge rusher Myles Garrett, as he was placed on IR and will miss at least the next four games.

With that said, here is a look at where the Rams place in the power ranking across the board following Week 1.

In the Week 1 power rankings, NFL.com had the Rams at the No. 1 overall spot; however, following a disappointing performance from Los Angeles, they fell all the way to the No. 7 spot, which was a result of all sides of the ball not performing up to standard against the 49ers.

In the power rankings, NFL.com pointed out that the Rams looked very fatigued, which appears to be a key reason they looked the way they did, and that Garrett was not himself. Regardless, the team has plenty of opportunities to bounce back.

In the Week 2 power rankings, The Athletic ranked Los Angeles No. 6 and also pointed out the Rams' frustrating performance, mainly that of quarterback Matthew Stafford, who did not look like himself after winning the MVP in 2025.

Heading into a home game in Week 2 against the New York Giants, the Rams must play better, especially on offense.

The ESPN power rankings actually have the Rams decently high, as they ranked Los Angeles No. 4 overall, and with this team having a home game in Week 2, it is very possible they will play much better.

While the performance was not great in Week 1 overall, ESPN mentioned that cornerback Trent McDuffie showed some promise in his Rams debut as he played well throughout the game, recorded two pass deflections, and did a solid job against the 49ers receivers. However, other than McDuffie, the defense was not great.

Lastly, Yahoo Sports put the Rams in the No. 4 overall spot, and they clarified that Week 1 is not an indicator of what Los Angeles will be in 2026.

Additionally, Yahoo Sports mentioned that even before the Rams acquired Garrett, it was a good offseason with the moves they made. So, heading into Week 2, if Los Angeles does play much better, it is quite possible that Week 1 was just a bad game.

After looking at the power rankings across the board, it was made even clearer that the Rams did not play up to standard; however, head coach Sean McVay and his squad have plenty of time to bounce back.

Every year in Week 1, there are surprises, with good teams not performing well and bad teams looking incredible. With that said, the Rams will more likely than not play much better than they did in Week 1 moving forward.

So, heading into Week 2, it will be interesting to watch how the Rams respond and who steps up for Garrett on IR for at least the next month.
