A look at where the Los Angeles Rams sit in the national power rankings after their victory against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Los Angeles Rams nearly dropped to 1-3 on the season, but a pep talk from head coach Sean McVay seemed to propel the team to rifle off 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles.
In what could be considered a momentum shifting win, the Rams moved back to .500.
Here is how Los Angeles stacks up in the national power rankings.
NFL.com - No. 13
NFL.com sees no change for the Rams from Week 4 to Week 5. The publication points to what was written above: the team found a way not to fold when it mattered.
One of the glaring issues that remains is quarterback Matthew Stafford. The reigning MVP threw another two interceptions on Sunday, pushing his total to six for the season. He had a total of eight in the 2025 regular season.
Yahoo! Sports - No. 8
Yahoo! Sports has the Rams as being a top 10 team, but they have fallen two spots down from No. 6.
The offense played in a very sloppy manner through most of the game, which is why the 14-point comeback feels like it may have jump-started their chance to turn things around. Stafford cannot keep turning the ball over, and the defense bailed the Rams out due to the 2.5-sack performance from linebacker Byron Young.
ESPN - No. 7
Similar to NFL.com, ESPN has not given the Rams any sort of movement.
The injuries that are piling up have obviously made an impact on this team. Defensive end Myles Garrett is out for at least the next four games, and Aaron Donald missed Week 4 due to a back injury.
Wide receiver Puka Nacua missed two games, and cornerback Jaylen Watson missed one. The strongest talents that were brought on if have all had injury issues, which could be the biggest reason for this rocky start.
The Athletic - No. 5
Instead of moving down, The Athletic has the Rams moving up from No. 8 to No. 5.
The accuracy issues and turnovers for Stafford cannot be ignored, but maybe this needs to be chalked up to a just-out-of-rhythm start to the season.
Los Angeles will get some big players back down the line (mainly Garrett), and that could lead to a strong mid to end of season push.
The Verdict
There is still a lot of belief that the Rams can be what they were predicted to be, but the odd nature of how Stafford is performing has put a damper on that belief. That, and the inconsistencies from the entire team.
Injuries are no excuse. Take the San Francisco 49ers, for instance. They have tons of injured players and are 4-0.
McVay has do a better job coaching, while the whole team needs to shake off whatever it is they have going on.
