Trent McDuffie says the Los Angeles Rams will have a big target on their back as a result of this very talented roster.
The Los Angeles Rams have had a very successful offseason as they have brought in great talent like cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, in addition to edge rusher Myles Garrett. However, with that talent, there seems to be added pressure and attention from the media and potentially their 2026 opponents.
On Tuesday morning, McDuffie spoke to 'Inside Rams Camp' and talked about the fact that the Rams will be targeted next season.
"Yeah, honestly, we got a big target, you know what I mean? You add guys like myself, Jaylen Watson, you add guys like Myles Garrett," McDuffie said
"I remember when we first got Myles Garrett, all the DBs had this meeting and I remember sitting up there and being like, Guys, you know how much like harder it is going to be? Like, yeah, we brought in all this talent, but now we are like the super team. Like, everybody wants to come and play us at their best. Everybody's going to play us like it's the Super Bowl. And that just means we have to work that much harder," McDuffie added.
As McDuffie talked about the additions made to the Rams this offseason, combined with the talent they already had is going to put a target on their back, which will result in very tough games throughout the entire 2026 season.
While McDuffie did say it is going to be difficult, he didn't use that as an excuse, but instead mentioned that it means they have to work even harder to ensure they are ready to take on any challenge that comes their way.
The good news for the Rams is the fact that there are plenty of veterans on this team, like McDuffie, Watson, Garrett, Matthew Stafford, and Tyler Higbee, among many others, who understand that and will push each other to get this team where it needs to be.
In order to work hard and get where this team needs to be, it is crucial for the Rams to have as many live reps as possible while also trying to limit injuries. On that note, head coach Sean McVay has structured practices in a way that gives the players a chance to compete and get the best out of each other by using 11-on-11 drills early on.
In these 11-on-11 drills, the offense and the defense have both made plays and look to be getting the best out of both sides. McDuffie specifically has a great opportunity to get better as he competes with two great receivers, Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, on a consistent basis in practice.
The more the Rams are able to push each other in practice, the better off they will be, especially because of the tough early stretch on the schedule with games against the 49ers, Eagles, and Broncos.
While the Rams do have a tough schedule, the talent that this team has put together has the potential to overcome that and have a great season, but as McDuffie said, it is very important to keep working, because with that tough schedule, they are gonna get each opponent's best shot.
