A look at the current wide receivers on the Los Angeles Rams and what the plan may be for the group in 2026.
The Los Angeles Rams enter the 2026 season with one of the more explosive offenses in the league. It all starts with the star duo of head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford.
However, following them is a solid wide receiver room from top to bottom, headlined by a dynamic duo in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.
Both have already established themselves among the league's elite pass catchers, and if they remain healthy, they have the potential to once again rank as one of the most productive receiving tandems in the NFL.
Here is where that room stands, and some big questions regarding the unit entering the season.
Rams Wide Receivers on the Roster
Puka Nacua
Arguably the best wide receiver in the league after just three seasons in the NFL. Nacua came out of nowhere, entering the 2023 season, when he picked up 1,486 yards, six touchdowns, and a then-105 rookie reception record. But that is not the case entering the 2026 season.
In 2025, Nacua led the league with 129 receptions, which was good for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns. Will he be able to continue this trend?
Only time will tell, but he is expected to have another solid year, especially with a contract extension looming.
Davante Adams
Adams is coming off a season where he led the league in touchdown receptions, as he picked up 14, proving he remains a huge red zone threat.
Stafford helped Adams reach a new level and vice versa.
However, health and age are not on his side. The 33-year-old's health will be a major talking point, especially after a lingering hamstring injury limited him late last season and arguably hampered the Rams when they needed him the most.
If he can stay healthy throughout the 2026 season, Adams will have a much better chance to make a bigger impact.
Jordan Whittington
The Rams' WR3 was non-existent last season, and that has been the case for several years. Whittington has struggled to establish himself as a consistent threat throughout the first two seasons of his career.
However, the former Texas Longhorn has a great chance to do just that this season. If not, many will point to the fact that the Rams passed on selecting a WR3 with the 13th overall pick.
In Whittington’s career, he’s tallied 40 receptions for 464 yards in 32 games.
Konata Mumpfield
Mumpfield was the Rams' seventh-round pick last season. He played a limited role with the team, tallying 10 receptions for 92 yards and one touchdown.
The 23-year-old appeared in 375 offensive snaps in 2025, which accounted for 33 percent. If Mumpfield can make a name for himself in training camp and preseason, there is a chance he gets a bit more opportunity in McVay's offense.
Xavier Smith
Smith didn’t do himself any favors with the fumble on special teams in the NFC Championship Game; however, he still remains a versatile weapon for the Rams.
Smith started three games out of the 16 he appeared in, recording 18 receptions for 303 yards. Smith didn’t record a touchdown; however, he converted on 11 first downs. As for the special teams side of this, he had 27 returns for 251 yards, a big jump from his 2024 numbers.
As for 2026, the Rams will likely continue to lean on him primarily as a special teams contributor, where he is expected to make the biggest impact.
C.J. Daniels
The Rams sixth round pick in this year’s NFL Draft has a chance to establish himself as a WR3 when all is said and done.
He's the unknown coming onto the scene and has already turned heads. Daniels was a standout during Rams OTAs, catching the attention of McVay.
If the outlook from OTAs and minicamp continues, Daniels could be of value right out the gate. If he is not playing in the final game of the preseason, that is a good sign for the start of his rookie campaign.
Biggest Wide Receiver Questions
Who will establish themselves as the WR3 for the Rams? The two spots at the top are reserved, so who could be the wide receiver relied upon when the defense is focused on Nacua and Adams?
Daniels certainly has the most potential, coming off a season where he collected 50 receptions for 557 yards. If none emerge, the Rams may trade for a wide receiver that’ll best complement the star duo.
