Former Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Daniel Faalele is set to join John Harbaugh and the New York Giants on a one-year deal.
It was well-known that the Baltimore Ravens would move on from right guard Daniel Faalele, and now that has officially happened. Per reports, the lineman is set to join John Harbaugh and the New York Giants on a one-year deal.
Faalele played 1,011 snaps and appeared in all 17 games over the past two seasons, but he struggled mightily. In 2025, he was rated one of the worst guards in the NFL and was 55th out of 81 guards on Pro Football Focus.
On top of allowing four sacks and committing five penalties, the guard also gave up 30 pressures. Faalele's struggles pointed to the Ravens allowing him to leave in free agency, which has now happened.
Outlook of Ravens Offensive Line
Considering the exit of Faalele, the Ravens must now shift to getting their offensive line right. With Lamar Jackson having missed four games in 2025, which derailed the season completely, it is paramount to find a way to protect him even more.
Baltimore also lost center Tyler Linderbaum, who was holding the line together with left tackle Ronnie Stanley. Neither was enough, and it is now up to general manager Eric DeCosta to find the right linemen to step in.
The good news is the Ravens have the No. 14 overall pick, and they have been mocked to Miami's Francis Mauigoa, Penn State's Vega Ioane, and Utah's Spencer Fano.
The logical player here would be to take Ioane, who is the consensus top guard in the draft. He could be a plug-and-play type of guard that could take over for Faalele and lock down the right side.
Finding a solid guard needs to happen, as does a center. The Ravens could wait to draft one in the second or third round, or simply try to convert one of the three listed linemen into a center.
With protecting Jackson being the top priority, the Ravens might also not want to risk converting a natural tackle or guard into a center.
Baltimore also brought in John Simpson, Jovaughny Gwyn, Danny Pinter, and re-signed Corey Bullock.
Head coach Jesse Minter did say there will be competition on the line and that more additions are likely to happen throughout training camp. The time is now for the Ravens to get their offensive line right, especially with how Faalele did not pan out.
The offense lives and dies on the impact of Jackson and running back Derrick Henry, hence the need for a really good offensive line.
