The Baltimore Ravens could make a big splash to upgrade their wide receiver room by adding free agent Jauan Jennings.

The Baltimore Ravens have had quite the offseason.

So far, the Ravens have lost a total of 11 players from last season’s roster and saw a potential blockbuster move involving Maxx Crosby fall apart after they backed out of a trade.

It has been a whirlwind stretch for Baltimore, and things haven’t improved much since. As it stands, the Ravens look far from the perennial contender they have established themselves to be year in and year out.

However, they still have a chance to improve the roster with free agency underway. One of the many position groups the Ravens must address is their wide receiver unit. Baltimore's pass-catching unit has been a one-man show with Zay Flowers, but they can bolster it by adding free agent Jauan Jennings.

Jennings is coming off a solid season. It wasn't his career best, especially coming off his stellar 2024 season, but he was still healthy and productive. In the season, Jennings tallied 55 receptions for 643 receiving yards, averaging 11.7 yards per reception and nine touchdowns in 15 games.

The 28-year-old is one of the top wide receivers in the free agency market, and the Ravens could make a move for him. The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec listed a handful of players Baltimore could target, and Jennings among them.

"Widely considered the top free-agent receiver available, Jennings is a big, physical target who makes contested catches and is a weapon in the red zone and on third downs. He had 15 touchdowns over the past two seasons for the San Francisco 49ers. He's also an extremely physical blocker on the perimeter, which is important to the Ravens. He still might be primed to make more money than Baltimore wants to pay, but if his market doesn't materialize, DeCosta should consider pouncing. He'd be a nice fit."

Jennings is one of the more reliable, tough, and one of the best blocking receivers in the game today. The Ravens could certainly use an upgrade to their wide receiver room to provide more weapons for Lamar Jackson.

Baltimore could look to do that through the draft, but acquiring a veteran like Jennings could be what Jackson and the Ravens need.

Jennings' nine touchdowns this season were his career best. He's built his game on his physical play, clutch third-down receptions, and strong presence in the red zone. Baltimore struggled mightily in the red zone last season, hovering around a 47 to 50 percent success rate.

Jennings has made a name for himself after being a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

He's spent his whole career with the 49ers, where he has tallied 210 receptions for 2,581 receiving yards, averages 12.3 yards per reception, and 22 touchdowns in 75 games.
