The Baltimore Ravens have had one of the most dramatic free agency periods in recent memory. After losing 11 players, the team attempted to make up for that by adding Maxx Crosby, which completely fell through.
After adding Trey Hendrickson, the Ravens did not do much to make up for the multiple starters they lost. Despite the losses, the belief is that the current roster will still be very competitive, leading to a shocking ranking in the free agency power rankings.
One of the biggest losses, apart from Crosby, was the Ravens' loss of center Tyler Linderbaum. Linderbaum signed a huge contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.
To make up for the loss of Linderbaum, the team secured offensive lineman John Simpson and Jovaughn Gwyn. The team also signed Corey Bullock to a one-year deal via tendering his exclusive free agent rights.
Bullock is likely the favorite to land the center position, but it might not be near enough to make up for Linderbaum.
The Ravens also lost both tight ends, Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar, but Druham Smythe was signed to make up for Kolar's ability to block.
Safeties Alohi Gilman and Ar'Darius Washington also left. Simply put, the roster was hit hard.
Despite this, NFL.com's Eric Edholm placed the Ravens at No. 6 overall in the free agency power rankings.
"Well, it's been nothing short of a fascinating start to the offseason for the Ravens, with the failed Maxx Crosby trade (and subsequent Trey Hendrickson signing) dominating the early news cycle in free agency. Prior to that, the Ravens lost a slew of players in free agency, including Pro Bowl C Tyler Linderbaum, who has clearly been their best offensive lineman in the past few years, especially in the run game. I'm still chewing on everything they've done and had done to them so far. Right now, it's OK, even if I think it's pretty clear that Baltimore's roster isn't in as good of shape, top to bottom, as it was a few years ago. That said, it's still a roster that should produce a serious contender in 2026. And like I said in the intro, this is a grand reshuffling with an eye toward next fall, thus explaining the Ravens' rise in this rundown," Edholm wrote.
To be fair, the Ravens still have quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry, along with wide receiver Zay Flowers. The defense also now has Hendrickson, along with cornerback Marlon Humphrey and safety Kyle Hamilton.
The Ravens roster may not be in dire straits, despite the steep losses. General manager Eric DeCosta has some work to do, but the team is likely to target their lost players with younger talent in the draft, which has always been the Baltimore way.
Ranking Baltimore in the top 10 is shocking due to their struggles in 2025 and the loss of many free agent starters. However, they can still surprise everyone if the roster remains healthy in 2026.
