Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter broke down what he wants to see from the team during training camp.

Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter is set to embark on his first season as the leader of the team, and his first time being the man in charge on the field. While there is a lot of promise for the dynamic defensive mind, he is also set to experience a first-ever NFL journey.

Minter sat down on "The Lounge" with Garrett Downing and Ryan Mink to discuss what his goals are for the Ravens in his first year as head coach.

"It's how we operate. We want to be the best in everything that we do," Minter said. "...It's way beyond the results of what happens on the field."

Minter wants the Baltimore players to not only strive for greatness but to attack everything with a passionate mindset. While that is the usual goal for most coaches, he could be pointing to the team shaking off the 2025 season and looking ahead.

"When you do that, when you live your life that way, when you attack everything with that mindset and you have a growth mindset on top of that to always learn from what happened the day before, get a little bit better the next day. We just really want to be a process-oriented team that tries to get a little bit better each day. That understands what our major goals are as an organization and go attack that," Minter said.

The Ravens finished 8-9 in 2025 in what was a hugely uncharacteristic year that saw the team miss out on the playoffs for the first time since 2021. The underwhelming nature of the entire team led to sweeping changes, and John Harbaugh was fired after 18 years with the organization.

Now, Minter has the charge to help bring the Ravens back to the usual AFC contender they usually are.

The Ravens have All-Pro talent on both sides of the ball, including quarterback Lamar Jackson, who has won two MVPs; the consensus top safety in the NFL, Kyle Hamilton; a top 10 running back in Derrick Henry, and many more.

Minter will have a tall task ahead of him, as he must find a way to ensure the team melds in a way that they did not in 2025. Injuries also hampered the success of the season, but that cannot be used as an excuse for anyone.

There are also the draft picks that need to be brought into the game plan, and there are several who are expected to make an immediate impact, like offensive lineman Vega Ioane.

The good news for the Ravens and the AFC North is that several teams are in flux with new coaching staffs in place, like Todd Monken now leading the Cleveland Browns and Mike McCarthy leading the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With a lot of turnover and new faces across the board, Baltimore is on equal footing with everyone. The 2025 season is in the past, and now Minter must execute his culture in training camp.
