The Baltimore Ravens have released their inactives for the game, and the team got good news on Ronnie Stanley and John Simpson.
The Baltimore Ravens were facing some big questions on their roster as offensive linemen Ronnie Stanley and John Simpson were both questionable heading into Sunday.
Additionally, outside linebacker Trey Hendrickson was also questionable, but earlier reports indicated that he would be on the field. The Ravens have released their official inactives list, and all three will play.
Interestingly, both backup guard Andrew Vorhees and tackle Gerad Lichtentan were both made inactive, meaning the starters are ready to go.
The players who are also inactive are wide receiver Zay Flowers, defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike, and linebacker Teddye Buchanan. Additionally, third-string quarterback Joe Fagnano is on the list but is the team's emergency option.
Stanley appeared on the injury report with a toe injury and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday. He was limited on Friday, but will not play in the game against the New Orleans Saints.
Simpson had a similar path, as he has been dealing with a groin injury, and missed two days of practice. After being limited Friday and questionable, he will play.
Head coach Jesse Minter ruled out both Madubuike and Buchanan, but indicated before Week 1 that they were close to returning. After missing a second straight game, it would not be shocking if both take the field in Week 3.
Minter chose not to play either on IR to start the season, as they believed both defenders would be back within four weeks, and that appears to still be the case. They may be out for Week 2, but Week 3 seems the likely return point.
Flowers suffered a hamstring aggravation in Week 1 after setting a career-high 150 receiving yards against the Indianapolis Colts.
That hamstring has been affecting him more, as he missed two days of practice this week and was labeled as doubtful. Instead of pushing him, Minter has chosen to allow him to fully heal.
The Ravens have more than enough in the receiver room to deal with the loss of Flowers, and rookie Ja'Kobi Lane who was placed on IR due to surgery. He suffered a wrist injury against the Colts, and had to undergo a procedure to correct it.
Balitmore may have been in trouble with two starting offensive linemen being ruled out but both Stanley and Simpson will take the field. The line played well in Week 1, apart from an instance where quarterback Lamar Jackson was sacked and he fumbled the ball.
That said, the Ravens are now aiming to move to 2-0 on the season.
