Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has missed his second straight practice.
Multiple reports have revealed that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has missed practice for the second straight day. With that in mind, it might point to the passer not being able to suit up in Week 6.
Jackson suffered a sprained ankle during the end of the second quarter in Week 4, and he has not been able to return to action since then.
During Week 5, Jackson missed practice all week, leading to backup Tyler Huntley taking over as the starter. Huntley did a fantastic job orchestrating a fourth-quarter comeback along with an overtime win.
The Ravens will look to Huntley to do the same thing if Jackson cannot take the field.
Jackson has the chance to return to practice on Friday, but that may not be enough for him to play. Missing two practices with an injury generally points to the player not being able to suit up.
That is not always the case, but the Ravens coaching staff and Minter may want to be cautious regarding Jackson as they do not want him to suffer any longer-term damage to his ankle.
Baltimore has a tough task ahead as they are facing the Browns and their former offensive coordinator, Todd Monken, but pushing their starting quarterback back out there when he is not ready would not be ideal.
If Jackson cannot play, it will be the second missed game of the 2026 season, and it will also be a total of six games that he has missed dating back to last season. There have been plenty of concerns regarding the former MVP's health, and missing multiple games will not help to shake off that narrative.
The good news for the Ravens is that Huntley remains the right backup who can get the job done. When Jackson went down in 2025, the team signed Huntley due to the struggles of backup Cooper Rush.
Huntley led the Ravens to a win that sparked a five-game winning streak.
The concern for Huntley in 2026 is that he could not lead the offense to any points when Jackson went down in the first half of Week 4. Considering the opponent was the Tennessee Titans, who have struggled mightily this season, points should have come a bit easier.
Huntley silenced those doubts in Week 5. After a rough start, he threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns, along with a 111.6 passer rating.
Losing Jackson is never ideal, but Huntley has shown over time that he can truly settle in and run this offense.
