The Baltimore Ravens have pulled off a huge trade, landing Philadelphia Eagles center Cam Jurgens.
The Baltimore Ravens have made a huge move to land a presumed starting center.
The team announced that they have made a move to land former Philadelphia Eagles center Cam Jurgens. Jurgens is being sent to Baltimore in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick. The Ravens also received a 2027 seventh-round pick.
Jurgens has 45 starts at center over the past four seasons, which includes the four games thus far in 2026. During the 2024 and 2025 seasons, he was named to the Pro Bowl.
In 2025, Jurgens gave up no sacks in 800 snaps, while posting an overall 63.4 grade, per Pro Football Focus. During the 2024 season, he gave up four sacks, but posted a 67.1 overall grade, placing him 14th out of 40 qualified centers.
The Ravens needed to make a move considering their injuries that were mounting on the offensive line.
After Jovaughn Gwyn went down, that was followed by Ethan Pocic. In one game, the Baltimore offense lost its starting and backup center. It was rookie guard Vega Ioane who stepped in to take over and finish out the Week 3 game.
Ioane was then asked to play center with one week of training at the position. He held his own in Week 4 and was expected to be the center moving forward.
The issue is that the Ravens then lost their starting right guard, Andrew Vorhees, leaving third-stringer Emory Jones Jr. to step in. With more depth needed, the Baltimore front office chose instead to make a big move to land Jurgens.
It would now be presumed that Jurgens will slot in as the team's starting center, and allow Ioane to return to the right guard position. This gives the team a strong starting five yet again.
Ioane could have remained as the starting center, but he was doing a fantastic job as the team's right guard. He was the emergency option but can now return to the position that he started with in 2026.
Ioane may be looked at as the emergency center yet again, but placing him back at guard was always the top direction that the Ravens needed to take if that were possible.
Jurgens not only allows for Ioane to return to guard, but it also gives the Ravens their best center since they lost Tyler Linderbaum in free agency. The Eagles are known for their offensive line prowess, and now they have agreed to send one of their best to Baltimore.
