Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers has offered some good news on his availability to play in Week 3.
The Baltimore Ravens are in Brazil as they are set to face off against the Dallas Cowboys, and it appears the team just got some huge news on wide receiver Zay Flowers.
Flowers took the field early to test out his hamstring, and he has now confirmed that he plans to be in uniform and will play against the Cowboys.
Videos have emerged of Flowers cutting and running at high speed, which is a good sign. He also spoke to NFL reporter Tracy Wolfson and stated that he will try out his new Samba dance touchdown.
Flowers has been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury, which led to him missing the second half of Week 1. After putting up a career-high 150 receiving yards, he was pulled from the game after aggravating the injury.
The issue remained in Week 2, as Flowers missed practice two of the three days in which injury reports come out. After being limited in the third and final report, he was ruled out by head coach Jesse Minter.
Oddly enough, Flowers missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday and was limited on Friday ahead of the Brazil matchup. Despite what appeared to be another missed week, the receiver is now set to suit up.
With Flowers out of the lineup, the Ravens offense was not the same as it was in Week 1 as it was in Week 2.
Rashod Bateman stepped up and put together a respectable performance of 88 yards and one touchdown. Apart from Bateman, the other pass catchers were nowhere near as effective in the passing game.
With Flowers back, the Baltimore offense can now presumably be at a high level again. If Bateman and Flowers can explode, quarterback Lamar Jackson will have a lot to work with.
Getting running back Derrick Henry involved will matter a great deal as well, as he only had 68 rushing yards on the ground against the New York Giants.
Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle admitted that he may have underutilized Henry, which should not have happened against the Cowboys.
Dallas has their own high-powered offense, and the Ravens will need to keep pace. The good news is they have their "Big 3" back with Flowers now set to take the field.
Baltimore will also need to limit their pre-snap and post-snap penalties, which have been a huge issue through the first two games of the season. If they can manage those mistakes, they have a shot at leaving Brazil with a win.
