Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward shares Maxx Crosby's raw reaction to the failed Ravens trade.
The Baltimore Ravens are still recovering from their failed trade of All-Pro edge rusher Maxx Crosby.
It's been a little over a week since that transpired, but there have been some massive ripple effects. The Ravens are still trying to pick up the pieces. As for Crosby, he has been vocal about the failed trade, as well as throwing shade at the organization.
Crosby shared his tell-all in his recent podcast episode; however, he's not the only one speaking on the matter. Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro Cam Heyward shared in his latest podcast episode what more Crosby had to say about the failed trade.
Heyward shared the conversation he had with Crosby after everything unfolded, and Crosby was blunt about his feelings toward the Ravens.
"He was like, ‘F--k those dudes, I’m staying with the Raiders.’ I was like alright, I can respect that," he said. "Maxx has always been straight up with me and I’ve always respected Maxx a lot."
Crosby has not been shy about how he feels about the trade and how everything went down. On his podcast, The Rush with Maxx Crosby, he did not mince any words on his point of view of the failed trade, saying he is meant to be a Las Vegas Raider.
"Everyone's got their own theory, conspiracy theory, no one really will ever admit on either side what the real truth is or whatever," Crosby said. "Ultimately, it doesn't even matter. I am where I'm supposed to be. I know that. I'll just say that. . . . S—t happens for a reason. I know exactly who I am. I’m f—ing crushing my rehab. I’m doing what I’m doing. I wasn’t supposed to be in Baltimore and that’s it. You know what I mean? I’m meant to be a Raider. It’s through my damn core. And that’s it. I leave it as simple as that."
The Ravens traded away two first-round picks for Crosby, the first time they had done so in their franchise's history. Baltimore needed to revamp their pass rush, and they still happened to do so by adding All-Pro Trey Hendrickson.
Nonetheless, he is an older and potentially far less potent run stopper than Crosby. The rest of the AFC North likely rejoined when the trade was rescinded, including Heyward, who provided his blunt take on it.
"I was happy he didn’t end up with the Ravens personally, selfishly," Heyward admitted. "But to say he’s going to be there also made me happy because he’s going to be able to take good care of little brother."
Baltimore has a long way to go if they want to be competitive in 2026.
