Following the rookie mini camp, Baltimore Ravens rookie tight end Josh Cuevas praised the abilities of fellow rookie Zion Young.

The Baltimore Ravens wrapped up their rookie mini camp, which integrated the new draftees and UDFAs into how things run with the organization. It was also the chance for the coaching staff to get their first look at their young talent.

Following the mini camp, select rookies spoke to the media, with tight end Josh Cuevas praising Zion Young. He spoke about his skill set, including admitting he is the "hardest" player he has gone up against.

"Some coaches would ask me, like, who's one of the hardest players you've gone against, and initially, whoever popped in my head was Zion Young. And Zion Young, I mean he's got so much potential, and his ceiling is tremendously high. He does everything right. He's got a deep bag. Spin move, push, pull, bull rush, everything," Cuevas said.

Cuevas also indicated he mimicked a pass rush move that he learned from Young and implemented it in his own move set.

Young impressed greatly at the rookie mini camp, as he drew pro comparisons to Jason Pierre-Paul, and his sheer work ethic in those few practices left a mark on Ravens writer Ryan Mink.

"On one of the first 11-on-11 plays of practice, Young burst upfield to push a run into the backfield, showing the kind of physical presence he'll be coming off the edge," Mink said on Saturday.

One thing that appears to be true is that Young has the kind of work ethic and skill set that continues to make a mark on everyone that he comes across. Cuevas and Young squared off on several occasions, and the young edge player left his mark.

Now, both are teammates and are likely to go against one another again during training camp and practice. As the saying goes, "iron sharpens iron," so both may elevate in a big way, having to face off with one another as they gear up for their first season with the Ravens.

Young will also have the benefit of learning from some huge talent on the Baltimore defense, which includes perennial edge rusher Trey Hendrickson and Calais Campbell, who just signed a one-year deal to return to the team.

Defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike will also be a strong voice once he recovers from his neck surgery.

One of the glaring issues the Ravens had in 2025 was their lack of pass rush, which they addressed in a big way when they brought in Hendrickson. Now, they could have a draft gem on their hands with the skills that Young brings to the table.

If he continues to impress in his rookie year, he could be a strong Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate.
