The Baltimore Ravens have been addressing their offensive line in a major way, this time with the plan to sign Chuma Edoga.

The Baltimore Ravens have made it a point to bring in some strong offensive linemen through the course of free agency and the draft. Guards John Simpson and Jovaughn Gwyn, centers Danny Pinter and Ethan Pocic, and the drafting of rookie guard Vega Ioane in the first round were all moves to improve the unit.

Pinter unfortunately suffered a season-ending injury, and the Ravens have continued to improve the unit. Recently, the team signed former Los Angeles Rams lineman A.J. Curi to the practice squad. Now, Baltimore is set to sign Chuma Edoga.

Edoga has 25 starts through his 62 appearances dating back to the 2019 season. The longtime veteran began his NFL career with the New York Jets, where he was drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Following three seasons with the Jets, Edoga would move to the Atlanta Falcons for one season, the Dallas Cowboys for two seasons, and finally the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025.

Edoga's biggest season was in 2023 when he played in all 17 games, with six starts.

Edoga is a versatile lineman who has experience at both tackle and guard and can offer some solid depth for the Ravens and the top swing tackle option.

Baltimore is currently looking to name the team's starting center, which is a competition that is still ongoing, per offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. With the potential of Gwyn or Pocic landing the starting spot, this could lead to lessened depth at the guard position.

Gwyn is a former guard who has been making waves since OTAs as the potential starting center. If that is the case, then Pocic would be the direct backup, leaving Gwyn out of serving in either guard position should injuries occur.

Edoga would then be a proper depth piece who could step in should that be needed.

On top of the Ravens' offense operating at a high level when running back Derrick Henry can get loose, protecting quarterback Lamar Jackson is of the utmost importance.

Jackson suffered a hamstring injury and multiple other ailments that led to his missing four games in the regular season, which ultimately led to a missed postseason and the current coaching regime being installed.

Jackson also admitted that his injuries led to a lessened rushing attack. Whether or not he plans to return to rushing a lot under Doyle, having a strong offensive line will be paramount.

Adding Edoga is just another in the list of moves the Ravens keep engaging in to ensure the offense has enough to make some noise in 2026.
