The Baltimore Ravens could use some cornerback help and there is one specific option who would make sense.

Entering the 2026 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens were widely expected to be a Super Bowl contender in the AFC. So far this season, the returns have given mixed reviews.

After starting the season with a 4-1 record, the Ravens have lost their last two games. They now stand at 4-3 entering Week 8 action against the Buffalo Bills.

One of the big reasons for their regressions has been the absence of superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson. He has been forced to miss time due to an ankle injury. Tyler Huntley has played solid football in his place, but he simply cannot replicate Jackson's impact.

Huntley has completed 69.8 percent of his pass attempts for 727 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. He has also picked up 76 yards and another touchdown on the ground.

Prior to the injury, Jackson threw for 967 yards, six touchdowns, and an interception, while completing 70.8 percent of his passes. He has also produced 144 yards and a touchdown on the ground in four games.

Thankfully, Jackson is expected to make his return to the field against the Bills this week.

With that being said, there are some areas that need improvement for Baltimore to be a serious championship contender.

The cornerback position could be something to monitor leading up to the November 10 NFL trade deadline. If the Ravens want to take their defense to the next level, bringing in another defensive back would make a lot of sense.

A name to keep an eye on will be Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Riq Woolen.

Woolen was signed to a one-year, $12 million contract in free agency this offseason. Unfortunately, the Eagles have started the season 2-5 and Jalen Hurts has been ruled out for the rest of the year due to blood clot issues.

Due to some of those unfortunate events, Philadelphia could turn into a seller before the deadline.

So far this season with the Eagles, Woolen has played in seven games. He has recorded 27 total tackles to go along with a forced fumble and six defended passes.

Throughout his entire 71-game NFL career, Woolen has totaled 230 tackles, two forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 12 interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and 59 defended passes.

Making this move would give the Ravens immediate help for this season. If things work out well, Baltimore could consider working out a new contract to keep Woolen for years to come.

Only time will tell what the Ravens choose to do ahead of the trade deadline. Woolen is a name worth monitoring as a potential target.
