The Baltimore Ravens have shown interest in one of the top wide receivers in this year's draft class, Washington's Denzel Boston.
The Baltimore Ravens have clear needs at the wide receiver position, and they are doing their due diligence as the NFL Draft slowly approaches.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Ravens have met with Washington star wide receiver Denzel Boston.
Baltimore is not the only team that met with Boston, as he met with the Carolina Panthers on Thursday. Boston has also met with the Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, and a few other teams as he looks to find his future NFL home.
The Huskie pass catcher is projected to be a late first-round pick in the upcoming draft. The Ravens hold the No. 14 pick in the draft, so there is a slight chance that Baltimore takes a chance on him if they love him.
According to NFL Draft Buzz, Boston is ranked as the 30th overall prospect and the No. 6 wide receiver in this year's draft class. The outside X-receiver is among the best deep threats in the draft.
At 6-foot-4, Boston has the prototypical build of a true X-receiver, using his length to shield defenders and win at the catch point. He accelerates quickly and maintains that speed throughout his routes with little wasted movement.
On deep throws, Boston consistently locates the ball early, tracks it smoothly over his shoulder like a center fielder, and shows a natural ability to adjust to back-shoulder passes as well as anyone in this class.
He showed off his skill set in his final season in the Pacific Northwest. Boston recorded 62 receptions for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns. His numbers helped Boston secure a spot on the third-team All-Big Ten while also earning honorable mention as a return specialist.
Boston's 11 receiving touchdowns tied for sixth in Washington single-season history, and his 20 career scores rank eighth all-time in program history.
In back to back season's, Boston was named Washington's Offensive Skill Player of the Year.
According to NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein, his NFL comparison is Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver, Puka Nacua. If the Ravens were to take a chance on Boston, he wouldn't need to come in and be a flashy WR1, but instead be a role player who can fill the gaps in their offense.
Zay Flowers is the undisputed WR1, but it's clear that pass catching unit can use a major upgrade; that's where a wide receiver like Boston could come in.
