The Baltimore Ravens could be without two key players for Week 3 as wide receiver Zay Flowers and offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley have missed a second consecutive practice.
Despite Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter stating that multiple players are "day-to-day" and he lumped wide receiver Zay Flowers in with that group, the receiver has now missed his second consecutive practice.
Joining Flowers in missing a second practice is offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley. Both Flowers and Stanley are dealing with nagging injuries, and both may not be in danger of missing Week 3.
Flowers was hit with a hamstring injury ahead of Week 1, and despite being limited to start things off, he was able to suit up against the Indianapolis Colts. After posting a career-high 150 receiving yards, the receiver was then pulled from the game and did not return.
This hamstring injury has been impacting Flowers in a significant way, as he also missed two days of practice ahead of Week 2 and was ruled out before the Ravens faced the New Orleans Saints.
Now, Flowers has missed two consecutive practices heading into Week 3 and is likely not to play against the Dallas Cowboys in Brazil.
Minter has not yet ruled out Flowers, but he also stated at media availability on Wednesday that he would do "what's best" for the receiver. What's best may be sitting him out for a few games while he truly recovers from this nagging hamstring injury.
Hamstring injuries can often linger or get worse with time, so it makes sense that the Ravens do not want Flower to aggravate it or suffer anything that would keep him out long-term. Instead, they are simply letting him heal with time.
Stanley is dealing with a toe injury that popped up ahead of Week 2. The injury kept him limited throughout the week heading into the matchup with the Saints, but the left tackle was able to power through and take the field.
Stanley nearly made it through three quarters, but the toe injury flared up and resulted in him being benched in the waning minutes of the third quarter. He was replaced by backup tackle Carson Vinson.
Now, Stanley has also missed his second practice in a row, and is danger of missing the Cowboys matchup.
The silver lining to Stanley's injury is that the Baltimore offense may not get Vinson in more valuable snaps with the first-team to prepare him to take over as the starting left tackle.
Stanley has also not been ruled out just yet, but he missing two practices in a row is a tell tale sign that said injury made need at least a week longer to heal.
