Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers is now questionable to return after having a career day.
The Baltimore Ravens are handily beating the Indianapolis Colts, with an entire half left to play. However, they have lost a second key player to injury.
Wide receiver Zay Flowers has been having a career day, as he secured 150 receiving yards. Now, he is questionable to return with a hamstring injury.
Flowers has been electric in this Week 1 showdown, rifling off some big catch-and-run plays. His biggest was a 54-yard catch-and-run, where he eluded the Colts' defenders and ran it into the end zone.
Following the big plays, it could be that Flowers' injury has now been aggravated.
Flowers was seen on the sideline with his helmet off near the end of the second quarter. It was later revealed that he is questionable due to a hamstring injury.
The Ravens wide receiver was already dealing with a hamstring injury earlier in the week, as he appeared on the injury report Wednesday while being limited. Flowers spoke to the media and said that he would be fine.
Flowers was upgraded to a full participant in the second injury report, and in the third, his injury status was completely removed. He is clearly being impacted by the hamstring injury that was nagging him earlier in the week.
The silver lining for the Ravens is that they are in a commanding lead against the Colts, and they have plenty of receivers to work with. Rashod Bateman, Ja'Kobi Lane, and LaJohntay Wester remain in the game.
Baltimore made rookie receiver Elijah Sarrat one of their inactives, which was a poor move in hindsight given this injury to Flowers. Still, there is plenty to work with for quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Flowers is now the second of two key injuries that the team has suffered. Early in the first half, cornerback T.J. Tampa headed to the locker room after suffering an injury, and he was immediately ruled out with a knee injury.
There could be a chance that Flowers returns to the game as he is questionable, but the Ravens may not want to rush him back into action and make his hamstring injury worse than it might be right now.
At the time of this writing, the Ravens are up big 31-13 on the Colts at the half.
