The Baltimore Ravens could pull off some wild trades during the draft, and one has the team going all-in to land George Pickens.
One position of steep need for the Baltimore Ravens is the wide receiver position. Apart from Zay Flowers, the team is lacking another strong pass catcher to help bolster the offense for Lamar Jackson.
That said, a wild trade proposal has been presented, which would see the Ravens surrender their first-round pick, but for wideout George Pickens.
Pickens was jettisoned by the Pittsburgh Steelers, leading to him landing with the Dallas Cowboys. In his first year and with an injured CeeDee Lamb, Pickens made his presence known by hauling a career-high 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.
Instead of landing a long-term deal, the Cowboys chose to give him a non-exclusive franchise tag. This means Pickens can negotiate with any other team, and Dallas would have the right to match it.
Instead of offering a long-term deal to compete with the Cowboys, how about a trade instead? Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox proposed the Ravens send their No. 14 overall pick for Pickens.
"Given Pickens' age (25) and proven production (1,429 yards in 2025), teams will likely inquire about him just before or during the draft. The Cowboys, who are already paying CeeDee Lamb $34 million per year, might listen.
"Replacing Pickens with a receiver like Kevin Concepcion or Omar Cooper Jr.—on a rookie contract—would make plenty of financial sense. Snagging Pickens would make sense for a team like the Baltimore Ravens.
"Baltimore could use a legitimate No. 1 receiver, and Pickens would certainly fill that need. He may also relish a chance to go up against the Pittsburgh Steelers team that jettisoned him a year ago," Knox wrote.
Adding Pickens would bolster the Ravens wide receiver room in a major way. It would also work in another way to prove to Lamar Jackson that the team is investing to keep him around.
With all the drama surrounding Jackson potentially moving on, making big moves like this would ensure that general manager Eric DeCosta and the front office are not messing around with building the offense back up.
Pickens is the kind of serious threat that would open looks for Flowers, and the same for Flowers. The pair would instantly become a top wideout duo in the NFL, and the Ravens could then invest more time in Tez Walker and hope that Rashod Bateman could shake his production issues.
Now, DeCosta and the Ravens might also be a bit scared to pull off another big move with what happened with the Las Vegas Raiders' pass rusher Maxx Crosby. Then again, pulling off a massive trade such as this would also go to silence the narratives of Baltimore not being trusted any longer.
The major issue with this trade is the Ravens would not have a first-round pick, and they would be foregoing potentially landing an offensive linemen that is desperately needed as well.
Naturally, the Cowboys would likely jump at the idea of bringing in more draft capital, especially the No. 14 overall pick. Would it make sense for the Ravens, possibly, as they may also target a wide receiver anyway, like USC's Makai Lemon.
