The Baltimore Ravens added John Simpson, Jovaughn Gwyn, and brought back Corey Bullock. Was this enough?

One of the biggest glaring needs for the Baltimore Ravens remains on the offensive line. The biggest loss is center Tyler Linderbaum, who signed a $27 million per-season contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.

To make up for the loss, the Ravens brought back former Baltimore guard John Simpson, signed guard/center Jovaughn Gwyn, and re-signed Corey Bullock. Was this enough?

Bringing back Simpson was a solid choice, as the former Ravens lineman is one of the most durable in the NFL. He played 1,014 offensive snaps in 2025 and has started all 17 games in the last three seasons.

Simpson may not be the most flashy signing, but he is a lineman who won't go down and cause havoc due to injury. With the struggles that Andrew Vorhees and Daniel Faalele dealt with, expect Simpson to step in either the right or left guard positions, but most likely the right due to Faalele not being brought back yet.

Gwyn will offer some much-needed depth and rotation, but he could be angling for a bigger role. The Ravens will have to see how he performs in training camp, as he only played 11 offensive snaps for the Atlanta Falcons in 2025.

Bullock is a rising star who could be the person to step in for Linderbaum as the new center. He only played 13 offensive snaps in 2025, but that was due to Linderbaum being with the team.

Gwyn and Bullock might be the two competing for the starting center position this summer.

Bullock, Gwyn, and Simpson are solid potential starters, but also depth pieces that will need to elevate their game to have a more substantial role on the team in 2026.

All in all, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta did not do quite enough for the line. He did mention looking into more players as free agency rolls around in Week 2.

Protecting Lamar Jackson is paramount, and the offensive line cannot falter or be a weak point, as another injury-riddled season for Jackson would cause even more chaos for the Ravens.

New head coach Jesse Minter is also a defensive mind who needs to ensure that offensive coordinator Declan Doyle has things sorted on that side of the ball.

The Ravens would be smart to go after a lineman at No. 14 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, and they have been mocked to players like Miami's Francis Mauigoa and Penn State's Vega Ioane.

Either one would be an upgrade that cannot be ignored. A center is the main issue, but Bullock may be the next man up that the Ravens have been guiding to take over for Linderbaum eventually.

With Faalele not returning, the guard position needs to be sorted, as does the center position. DeCosta may be heavily investing into both with some more free agents, and in the draft.
