The Baltimore Ravens went perfect in the preseason, and their third win produced a lot of storylines.
The Baltimore Ravens picked up their third win of the preseason, defeating the Washington Commanders with a final score of 41-3. The game was once again highlighted by a strong defensive performance and the offense being led by quarterback Joe Fagnano.
With this game being the last of training camp, here is what we learned from Jesse Minter's squad.
Joe Fagnano Deserves a Shot
There is no world in which Tyler Huntley will be unseated as the backup quarterback for Lamar Jackson, but Fagnano deserves a shot with another team.
Fagnano put together an impressive performance, where he continued to show poise in the pocket and played like a veteran.
It wasn't just his reads, but Faganano's accuracy and ball control is excellent. He ended the day with 162 yards and one touchdown on 19-for-27 attempts.
Fagnano has also thrown a touchdown in each game, putting his final preseason numbers at 509 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
The Ravens may want to keep him on the roster as their third emergency option, but if they do not, the rookie should get a shot elsewhere.
Ravens Defense Conitnues to Shine
As has been the case throughout the entirety of preseason, the Minter-led defense has once again shown how formidable it can be. This is equally impressive due to the fact that many starters are not on the field.
Once the starters are on the field, Minter and defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver might have the mind that can make the unit one of the top in the NFL.
Kicker is Now a Big Concern
The Tyler Loop experiment needs to come to an end. Despite the young kicker having the kind of leg that can knock in long kicks, he is wildly inconsistent.
If the Ravens are truly meant to have a roster that can compete with the best of the league, the team needs a new kicker.
Loop missed a 44-yarder in the 2025 season that would have sent Baltimore to the playoffs, and the fact that he went 2-for-4 in the final preseason game should push Minter to do something.
Wide Receiver Starters Should be Set
The Ravens have not played many starters in preseason, and it appears the wide receiver room may be figured out with Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, and Ja'Kobi Lane not seeing any action in the final game.
Lane did play in the first two preseason outings, but he may have secured the WR3 role behind Flowers and Bateman after not playing against the Washington Commanders.
Devontez Walker did play, and it was Chris Moore who also stole the show. Moore brought in 54 yards and one touchdown.
Moore could sneak in as a special teams and practice squad option, who can wait to be called, especially if Bateman is suspended.
