The NFL world is a fast-paced environment, and even for the Seattle Seahawks, fresh off a Super Bowl win, attention shifts fast.
With the Seahawks now NFL champions, the franchise had little time to celebrate as the scouting combine begins in Indianapolis, followed by free agency and the NFL Draft, before OTAs begin.
So it is a whirlwind time for every NFL team, let alone one that went all the way in the postseason.
And that means little time for anything other than football. And that includes celebrating the Super Bowl.
For head coach Mike Macdonald, when asked at the combine how his life has changed since winning the Super Bowl, he offered an answer that gives us a sense of how the NFL really works.
“Hasn't changed much,” Macdonald said. “I mean, it's still surreal that this all happened. I think you're a little insulated during the process. So, it'll kind of unravel, I'm assuming, over time, where you can go back and really cherish the memories.
"Obviously, those are the things you're thinking about, but life happens fast, and it's not as much time as you want to celebrate. Calendar rolls on. So, that's what our focus is right now.”
So in short. A quick celebration for their season achievement, and then it is nose back to the grindstone.
With the Seahawks now the hunted in the NFL, work has to be done to stay ahead of the chasing pack.
To do that, keeping key free agents while also improving in the draft and free agency is a must for the franchise. But as we know, success in the NFL isn't exactly linear.
Seattle has a number of key free agents that they must figure out if they are worth keeping on improved contracts, with Kenneth Walker looming as the big-ticket item for general manager John Schneider.
It has been a superb last month for the Seahawks, but as we know, time waits for no one, and now the long, arduous climb back to the summit of the NFL begins.
It leaves little time for reflection; otherwise, you get left behind in the Super Bowl race, and despite Seattle winning it in 2025, you can bet the franchise is just as eager to run it back.
