The Seattle Seahawks obviously just won the Super Bowl, so it is hard to say that there is anything that they need to improve.
But if there was one thing the team could work on heading into the 2026 season, it could be their offensive line.
And they could do so through free agency.
In a recent article by Ben Strauss of ClutchPoints, he gives who he believes should be the top three free agent targets for the reigning Super Bowl champs. And one of the players he mentions is on the offensive line, and it is Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum.
"The offensive line has been a problem in Seattle for quite some time," Strauss writes. "But the Seahawks have made some progress ever since Mike Macdonald took over. Charles Cross is a great left tackle and rookie Grey Zabel is a natural at left guard. If Seattle added another great offensive lineman, they could turn their o-line into a legitimate strength. There is no better player on the market this offseason than Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum."
Sam Darnold was sacked 27 times this past season, which is not that high of a number compared to the 55 times Las Vegas Raiders QB Geno Smith was taken down.
But there is always room for improvement, as there were a number of guys who started most if not all of the season that were sacked less than Darnold.
And getting a superstar center like Linderbaum would definitely do wonders for Seattle's offensive line.
The 25-year-old Raven has missed just two games in the four years since he has been drafted, showing that he believes that the best ability is availability. And that is always good to see in any lineman.
He also does not rack up barely any penalties, as he has just 19 in 66 career games with Baltimore.
And if he gets paid around what many predict he will get this offseason, Seattle will have more than enough room to sign the three-time Pro Bowler.
"Linderbaum is projected to command roughly $17.72 million per season on a new contract according to Spotrac," Strauss writes. "Seattle should have more than enough cap space to sign Linderbaum, but they may need to pay a bit extra if they get into a bidding war. Ultimately, Seattle's recent Super Bowl victory could make them a more appealing destination than other teams. Adding Linderbaum would be huge for the future of the Seahawks."
The importance of a good offensive line cannot be understated, and even reigning Super Bowl champions can improve that group.
