The 'Hawks already have plenty to worry about in the NFC West after the Los Angeles Rams pulled off a blockbuster trade for Myles Garrett. But if Donald were to come out of retirement and join him on the defensive line, the challenge facing Seattle would arguably reach an entirely different level.
Seattle is coming off of its second Super Bowl win in franchise history, and in 2026, the Seahawks will be looking to do everything in their power to defend the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
But the Rams aren't going to be making it any easier.
Recent comments from NFL insider Adam Schefter have added fuel to the speculation surrounding Donald's future. On a recent episode of his podcast, Schefter made a statement that should put Seahawks fans on alert.

"The idea here is, Donald himself has floated that he could potentially return to Los Angeles,'' Schefter said. "He's thinking about it. Training camp is getting closer next month. They'd have to come up with a plan for him to bring him back. But where else right now would he be more wanted, more celebrated, more respected than in the Rams locker room, where Myles Garrett is already waiting for him?
"Again, no decision from Aaron Donald and we'll see whether the two sides can get it done, but there seems to be a lot of momentum to the idea that this is certainly possible."
One thing we've learned from crossing swords with Schefter over the years: Sometimes, he's more "cue-card reader'' (think Will Ferrell's "Anchorman'') than he is "insider.''
But while we take this info with a grain of salt ...
The future Hall-of-Famer Donald retired following the 2023 season, but there are legit indicatations that the Rams' acquisition of Garrett has at least sparked discussion about whether Donald could be tempted into one more championship run.
Rams head coach Sean McVay has not completely shut down the possibility, acknowledging that he remains in contact with Donald, now 35, while the former Defensive Player of the Year has admitted the move made him think about a potential return.
