Brian Fleury takes over the offense, and while a lot is remaining the same from last year, there are some key differences.
Being a new offensive coordinator is a tough gig to begin with for most coaches, but when you are coming into a situation where the team you're on is the Super Bowl champions, that is a little bit tougher, but that is what Brian Fleury finds himself in with the Seattle Seahawks.
After Klint Kubiak did wonders for Sam Darnold and the offense last season, he is now in Las Vegas with the Raiders, and this offseason, one storyline to watch was how the unit would look under Fleury.
Coming from San Francisco, where he was a tight ends coach, Fleury is now "the" guy in Seattle, and when the offense you are joining has just won the Super Bowl, you have to be wary of changing too much.
But Fleury has put his own spin on things, while also keeping a lot of what worked well for the Seahawks last season.
Darnold, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and others have been glowing in their praise for Fleury this offseason, but we haven't heard much from the offensive line.
When it comes to what the offense did last year compared to this year, left tackle Charles Cross can see the flavor Fleury's putting on it.
"There are similarities, but there are also differences," Cross said. "I feel like he's done a great job coming in and starting installing the offense and having different nuances this year versus last year."
The thought is that what made the 49ers dangerous with their tight ends and running backs being key parts of the passing game, that it will be similar in Seattle.
We have seen running backs Jadarian Price and George Holani get work catching passes out of the backfield in camp, while tight end AJ Barner is expected to have a bigger role in the offense under Fleury.
Of course, time will tell what this offense looks like under Fleury, but early indications are good. Granted, there's been no adversity to hit the group yet; that'll come.
For now, it is about laying a good foundation for the year ahead as the Seahawks aim to do their best to defend the title they won last season.
And part of their weaponry is an offense that as different nuances to it that will ideally help keep defenses off balance.
