The Seahawks have been linked with a running back early in the draft, but it appears the attention has shifted to another position.
The Seattle Seahawks' draft plans, like all other teams, are a mystery, and while some people around the league have an idea of what teams want, in truth, it is just a guessing game.
Given how the draft can unfold and the unexpected nature of it, if the Seahawks zero in on a handful of players, they could all be off the board when it comes time to turn the card in.
Plus, picking at No. 32, there have been rumors that teams like the Arizona Cardinals or New York Jets could look to trade with Seattle to get back into the first round to select a quarterback.
Given the Seahawks have seen a host of players leave in free agency and have replaced them with rotational players, there are a few holes ot address.
The ones we have heard the most are running back, pass rush, and corner, and all make sense.
But over the past 48 hours, we've seen another position that has shot to the top of the list, and that's guard.
ESPN’s Jordan Reid, in writing what he has heard from people across the league, says Seattle is a team to watch when taking an offensive lineman.
"Olaivavega Ioane (Penn State) is the clear top interior offensive lineman, but many sources believe as many as three interior blockers could go in the first round," Reid wrote.
"Texas A&M's Chase Bisontis, Oregon's Emmanuel Pregnon and Georgia Tech's Keylan Rutledge were mentioned as the top candidates to sneak in. The Chargers and Seahawks were two teams repeatedly suggested as ones to watch here."
Running back appeared to be one position to watch, given Kenneth Walker is now a Kansas City Chief. So was corner and pass rush given the free agency losses.
But now it appears we can add offensive line to the list of needs for general manager John Schneider to address in the draft.
Whether that will be in the first round or not remains to be seen. Considering the Seahawks only have four picks in the upcoming draft, one would imagine that taking a guard in the first three rounds is what the Seahawks could be thinking.
This is because the Seahawks have a pick in each of the first three rounds, followed by a sixth-round pick to end their draft.
In truth, we have no idea how the draft will play out, but now, after hearing nothing about offensive line upgrades, it appears to be well and truly on the list.
