The Seahawks are picking last in the first round, but what would be an ideal situation for John Schneider and Co.?
The Seattle Seahawks' offseason has seen the franchise move rather cautiously as it looks to maintain the roster that won the Super Bowl last season.
Yes, a handful of key players have moved on in free agency, but Seattle has also managed to keep hold of some key players in Rashid Shaheed and Josh Jobe.
But as we head toward the NFL Draft, the Seahawks have only four selections: one in each of the first three rounds and one in the sixth.
So that isn't a lot of draft capital to fill the holes in the roster.
But what if the Seahawks got some help in the draft? Granted, they are picking last in the first round, so they would need a lot of help.
For Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine, he's named every teams ideal draft scenario, and when it comes to the Seahawks, it is a rather hopeful one at that.
"The Seahawks have the privilege of picking last so they can hope the Cardinals (3rd), Rams (13th) and 49ers (27th) all make mistakes with their first-round picks," Ballentine writes. "Then a cornerback who fits Mike Macdonald's system better than Riq Woolen, such as Avieon Terrell, falls to them to close out the round."
Exactly what Seattle's needs are in the first round is a big talking point.
We have seen in some mock drafts that, given the Seahawks' running back room, a player like Notre Dame's Jadarian Price is someone the franchise could target.
Then, as Ballentine states, a corner like Avieon Terrell, to help shore up Mike Macdonald's secondary, could be another option.
Given how well-rounded Seattle's roster is, I don't think the franchise will be looking to the draft to find Day 1 starters. More so, getting good depth at most positions.
Of course, that is hard with only four selections, but the Seahawks could trade back out of the first round to acquire more draft capital.
With so many scenarios that could play out before Seattle picks at No. 32, the franchise could do a host of things with its selection.
But given the free agency losses, getting a Day 1 starter in Terrell isn't a bad idea.
