The Seahawks have been mocked with multiple running backs, but does one stand out above the other?
For Seattle Seahawks fans who have followed the mock drafts over the past two weeks, a theme is emerging.
We have seen the running back position be the one the franchise opts to select in the first round. Yes, edge and corner have also been taken, but most mocks have the Seahawks taking a running back.
Why? A Kenneth Walker replacement.
Zach Charbonnet is dealing with an ACL injury and will likely miss the start of the season, leaving Emanuel Wilson, George Holani, and Kenny McIntosh as the backs for Brian Fleury to work with.
Given that Jeremiyah Love is the class's top back and is expected to be taken high, the Seahawks will likely have their pick of the bunch at No. 32.
If they do decide to take a running back in the first round, is there one player the franchise could be leaning toward?
Well, CBS Sports' Dave Richard has gone through a handful of backs that could be in play and has given an indication as to what they could offer Seattle.
With Jadarian Price, his skill set is too similar to Charbonnet's, according to Richard, but what about Arkansas' Mike Washington Jr.? That could be the pick.
"Charbonnet's skill set isn't like Washington's, giving the Seahawks another version of the ying-yang couple from 2025," Richard wrote.
So, based on this, could the Seahawks look at Washington Jr. as the pick over Price?
Washington Jr. had more yards in 2025 (1,070 to 674), but Price had more TDs (11 to 8), while Washington Jr. had better yards per carry (6.4 to 6.0).
So there isn't much separating the two, and it should be mentioned that Price was a backup behind Love at Notre Dame, having 113 attempts last year compared to Washington Jr.'s 167.
So if the Seahawks want variety in their run game, it feels like Washington Jr. is the pick, as he would give the run game a nice change-up from Charbonnet. Plus, he's been a starter.
But if the Seahawks want a player similar to Charbonnet, then Price appears to be the pick.
Which way will the Seahawks go? Whoever they select, it will tell us a lot about their vision for the run game in 2026.
