The Seattle Seahawks' decision to allow Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker to move on in free agency was a decision many saw coming.
After the Seahawks chose not to tag Walker, the writing was on the wall, and he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
But that does put the Seahawks in a little bit of a bind.
With no Walker, Zach Charbonnet, who is recovering from an ACL injury, is the team's "starter" at the time of writing.
Behind him are Emanuel Wilson, George Holani, and Kenny McIntosh.
But Charbonnet is likely to miss a large portion of the first half of the year as he recovers from his knee injury, and that leaves the running back room significantly weakened.
So Seattle might have to look at free agency or the draft to add another key piece.
ESPN's Bill Barnwell has one player in mind who could be a nice fit for Brian Fleury and one who was with him in San Francisco last season -- Brian Robinson Jr.
"The Seahawks need a replacement for Kenneth Walker III who can shoulder a meaningful workload, given that Zach Charbonnet is expected to miss the start of the 2026 season after tearing an ACL in the playoffs," Barnwell wrote.
"The Seahawks signed Emanuel Wilson to a one-year deal this week, but Robinson would offer a more consistent rushing performance and ably serve as the lead back in the rotation while Charbonnet recuperates."
Robinson Jr.'s career has been a little odd.
In his first three seasons in Washington, he posted 700+ yards in each year, along with a combined 15 rushing touchdowns. But the NFC East franchise didn't want to pay him on a long-term deal.
So he ended up with the 49ers last season, and rushed for 400 yards and 2 TDs as Christian McCaffrey's backup.
There's no denying that Robinson is a starting running back, or at least a more than competent backup.
And the Seahawks could get good value out of him with the bruising running style, coupled with the ability to zig and zag his way out of traffic, a key part of his game.
Plus, he'll be a cheap option and a no-risk signing for the Seahawks.
They need a dependable back to pair with Charbonnet, and Robinson Jr. fits the bill.
