It is fair to say that rookie running back Jadarian Price is ready to get down to business with the NFL champs.
New Seattle Seahawks running back Jadarian Price is ready to get down to business with his new team.
Taken with the No. 32 overall pick, Price will come to Seattle looking to prove himself, which does sound odd as a first-round selection.
But Jadarian played second fiddle to Jeremiyah Love at Notre Dame, so we didn't really get a full sense of the player Price is.
Although when he did get his chances, he made the most of them, never averaging less than 5.8 yards per carry across his three college seasons.
But now he's in the NFL, and it is a different world compared to college football, Price feels like the lessons learned while at Notre Dame will hold him in good standing.
"I'm just blessed to be here in Seattle and part of a winning program, winning culture," Price said. "Just coming into a locker room, being able to compete, and coming from a culture like Notre Dame, you being taught so many things, the habits I created, they'll translate to this NFL level.
"So, that'll help. But, I'm just blessed to be in this position that I am."

With Price now in the running back room, some think he will take over the mantle left by Kenneth Walker, who left for the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency.
Granted, having a rookie come in and produce as Walker likely did isn't fair to Price, but he's already taken a small step... by taking Kenneth's No. 8 jersey.
But why that number?
"It was multiple factors," Price added. "One of the numbers available, but also I wanted a little change, new chapter in my life, haven't done single digits since I was a little league. So, a new change, I thought it would be nice."
With rookie minicamp getting underway soon, Price, like his fellow rookies, will get a chance to impress the coaching staff before OTAs and training camp begins.
Given the makeup of Seattle's running back room, Price looms as the initial starter if he can prove himself over the coming months.
He knows the opportunity in front of him, and it is clear Price is determined to make the most of it.
With his Notre Dame career giving him a great foundation to attack his first NFL offseason.
