The Seahawks signed Emanuel Wilson in free agency, but his future with the team might not last long.

The Seattle Seahawks have seen a host of their own free agents sign with other teams over the past week.

The big one was Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker.

When Seattle chose not to tag Walker, the writing was on the wall that the franchise wasn't willing or comfortable paying upwards of $10 million APY to keep Kenneth.

And alas, he got $14 million APY with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Given that the Seahawks likely knew that Walker's future was going to be elsewhere, they got to work quickly to bring in more bodies at the position.

And that led them to Green Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson.

Three years in the league in Green Bay, Wilson has been a bit-part player in the NFC North, posting 1,083 yards and 7 TDs across 41 games (two starts).

So he hardly comes to the Seahawks, seen as a guy who is going to take starting reps.

More so, a good backup to either Zach Charbonnet when he returns from his ACL injury or another running back that Seattle might sign in the coming weeks.

But for former NFL player and now analyst Hugh Millen, who was on 933KJR radio, he thinks that Wilson's time in Seattle is going to be short. Very short.

“I wouldn't be surprised if Emanuel Wilson does not make the team," he said. "He has the look of a 2nd or 3rd RB on the depth chart.”

Now, the Seahawks likely signed Wilson to give them bodies for the offseason program, and if he makes an impression, then great.

With Charbonnet, George Holani, and Kenny McIntosh as the three other backs in the room, Wilson does have more experience than all of them.

But Charbonnet, right now, looms as the potential starter, given his ability, along with how he was used in the red zone last season (12 TDs).

However, some think the Seahawks have to sign another quality back to provide competition or even be a starter.

Could Wilson emerge as that player? With a good offseason, potentially.

But Millen has his doubts that Wilson will even be on the roster when the season starts.
