Fleury is taking over from Klint Kubiak as Seattle's offensive coordinator, and he knows exactly how he wants his unit to roll.

We often hear in professional sports that you don't want to be the guy after "the" guy, but that is exactly what new Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Fleury is.

Taking over from Klint Kubiak, who helped mastermind a Super Bowl win, it is not going to be easy to maintain the standards of last season for Fleury.

But that doesn't mean he won't be trying. There are still some superb pieces to work with.

Sam Darnold, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Kenneth Walker (if he stays), and A.J. Barner, just to name a few. So, the cupboard isn't bare.

But the biggest thing for Fleury is to figure out how much of what Kubiak did he wants to keep, and what things he wants to change.

And if you thought it was a little indecisive in what he wants out of his offense, well, think again.

At his introductory press conference, Fleury left no doubt as to what the 2026 Seahawks will be known for.

"It looks very similar to the one that just won the Super Bowl," Fleury said. "It's more about how you play than what you actually are doing schematically. We're gonna be fast and violent and aggressive in every way that we possibly can. Put pressure on defenses, both schematically and from a tempo standpoint. And just always have that type of mindset."

So, there appears to be a desire not to completely overhaul the offense for Fleury, and that's the smart call.

After all, this offseason was one of the better units in football and just won the Super Bowl.

There will be a delicate balancing act over the coming months for Fleury to mesh what he wants with the system, while maintaining which parts of Kubiak's he wants to keep.

Changes have come thick and fast for the Seahawks since their Super Bowl win, and with Fleury, a former San Francisco 49ers tight ends coach, he will bring some key knowledge to Lumen Field in 2026.

Yes, Kubiak was sublime for Seattle, but time waits for no one, and now this is Fleury's show with the Seahawks.

And how his vision for what the offense will be in 2026 is going to be fascinating to watch develop over the coming months.
