The Seahawks travel to Mile High in search of a much-needed win for Mike Macdonald and his staff.

The Seattle Seahawks face the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High on Thursday Night Football, desperate to keep pace with the undefeated San Francisco 49ers.

At 3-2, the Seahawks are still positioned well to make a run, but they haven't yet played a full game of proper Seattle football, instead being inconsistent through the first five weeks.

But they have to get this thing rolling in a more dominant fashion, and doing that on the road in Denver looks to be a huge ask.

However, it is one this Seattle team is more than capable of doing.

But how can Mike Macdonald's Seahawks team walk into Mile High and walk out with what would be a superb Week 6 win?

By doing these five things:

1 - Limit turnovers:

This has been all the talk this week after the four turnovers against the 49ers.

Sam Darnold has to take care of the ball, having thrown five interceptions in four games, while George Holani must protect the football as the running back.

Denver forced three turnovers against the Los Angeles Chargers last week, so Vance Joseph's defense will be looking for that crucial turnover.

Don't give it to them.

2 - Get run game rolling:

You don't find too many weaknesses with this Broncos defense, but one is against the run.

Totals of 220, 95, 116, 140, and 155 have been given up, so look for Emanuel Wilson and Holani to get some burn against this front.

Getting a competent run game will also help ease the pressure on Darnold to air it out, which, in turn, "should" bode well for the no-turnover thing.

You have shown you can run the ball; now, against a defense that struggles, ram it down their throats.

3 - Make life uncomfortable for Bo Nix:

Through five games, Nix has been sacked just six times and has only thrown three interceptions, so he is doing a decent job of protecting the football.

But with Sean Payton now taking over play-calling duties, we don't know exactly what we will get from Bo.

So, get the "Dark Side" to heat up Nix, and force him to beat you with his arm, because he's only averaging 188 passing yards a game in 2026.

4 - Find support for JSN:

The numbers are staggering, and not in a good way.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has 583 yards and 7 TDs through five weeks, but the next best weapon for Darnold is Cooper Kupp with 129 yards and a touchdown.

So you better believe Joseph will look to take JSN away, which means others in Kupp, AJ Barner, Tory Horton, and Rashid Shaheed have to pick up the slack.

It can't be a one-man show in Denver.

5 - Start fast:

One thing you want to do on the road is start fast, and the Seahawks in the last two weeks haven't.

Darnold threw an interception with his first pass against the Chargers, and then against the 49ers, he threw an interception on the first offensive drive.

That can't happen here. Don't give this Denver offense another possession. Plus, with this defense, you can't allow them to get confidence.

Play sound, mistake-free football.
