After being a young anchor on a Super Bowl-winning defense, the versatile safety has emerged as Seattle’s premier "building block." His rare athleticism and physicality signal the rise of a new cornerstone.

The Seattle Seahawks have no shortage of young talent coming off their Super Bowl-winning season, so it makes it hard to pick just one as the team's most promising young player

But that is exactly what Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox did in a recent article where he picked who he believes is every NFL team's most promising building block. For the reigning Super Bowl champions, he went to the defensive side of the ball and picked Nick Emmanwori.

"If Emmanwori can replicate his remarkable rookie campaign, there's virtually no way he'll be snubbed for the Pro Bowl again," Knox writes. "We're obviously just a year into his career, but the 22-year-old already looks like a future face of Seattle's defense."

Emmanwori wasted little time making an impact after being selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The former South Carolina standout became a key contributor in his rookie campaign, showcasing the rare blend of size, speed, and physicality that made him one of the most intriguing defensive prospects in his class.

He finished his rookie season with 81 total tackles, 11 passes defended, 2.5 sacks, and an interception while helping lead Seattle's defense to one of the league's best performances.

He was also named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team and finished as a finalist for Defensive Rookie of the Year after playing a major role in the Seahawks' run to a Super Bowl championship.

Whether lining up deep, playing in the box, or rushing the passer, he gives Seattle's coaching staff the flexibility to use him in a variety of ways, making him one of the defense's most valuable chess pieces.

While established veterans continue to lead the locker room, the Seahawks have assembled an impressive young core that includes Emmanwori alongside stars on both offense and defense. That kind of young talent shows just how well Seattle has built their roster for sustained success.

With another offseason to develop and a full year of NFL experience behind him, expectations are only increasing for the 22-year-old safety. If his rookie campaign was any indication, Emmanwori has all the tools to become the next great defensive star in Seattle.
