It appears that Charbonnet is nearing a return to the offense.
The Seattle Seahawks' offense over the last two weeks has been a little up and down, and the team has lost both games.
With Sam Darnold throwing interceptions for fun and the run game looking so-so, the Seahawks need something to give them a confidence boost before they face the Kansas City Chiefs at Lumen Field.
One way to get confidence is to have key players return.
Running back Zach Charbonnet was back on the practice field last week as he steps up his return from a torn ACL suffered in the playoffs last season.
In fact, there was a sneaky chance it might have played in Denver, but didn't.
Well, now with a little mini-bye, head coach Mike Macdonald revealed something that will have Seahawks fans grinning from ear to ear on Charbonnet.
"He's going to have a full week's worth of reps, so that's exciting," Macdonald said. "And there's a possibility that you could see him on Sunday in some capacity.
"So, that's that's exciting."
So Charbonnet could be returning against the Chiefs. That is huge.
With Jadarian Price still on IR, it has been Emanuel Wilson and the fumble-riddled George Holani who have had to take over the run game.
Well, Seattle might be about to get its starter back.
Now, those thinking that Zach will suit up and play 60 snaps, that isn't reasonable given how much time he has missed. But say on a pitch count of 15 plays? Absolutely.
The potential return of Charbonnet, who, before his injury, was Seattle's ultimate red-zone threat (12 TDs), even with Kenneth Walker on the team, could be the shot in the arm this offense needs.
Granted, don't expect fireworks, but mentally, the locker room seeing Charbonnet on the field will no doubt be a big deal, and who knows, maybe a player like Zach returning could be just what the doctor ordered for the champs.
It won't immediately fix the offense issues, but it could help give the Seahawks more of a threat out of the backfield because defenses aren't scared of Wilson or Holani ripping off a 30-yard run.
But Charbonnet can.
It feels like its been a long time coming, and maybe, just maybe at Lumen Field with the Chiefs coming to town, we'll see Charbonnet for the first time this season.
