It appears that former Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith has a funny side.

We often see NFL players take things too seriously online, but other times, they join in on the light-hearted fun, and for former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith, he has done just that.

With Smith being the starter in Seattle for five seasons, that time came to an end last offseason, as he was moved on to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Set to be a key piece of Pete Carroll's team, things didn't work out for Geno in Vegas, as in his 15 starts, he posted a 2-13 record. Yuck.

Now, the Raiders have decided to move on from Smith as they target quarterback Fernando Mendoza in the upcoming NFL draft.

So at the time of writing, Geno is looking for a job.

But if he thought he would be waiting a while to get a call-up, well, he's wrong.

As it turns out, his next career path could take him off the football field and into the food industry.

The official X account for Wendy's posted a light-hearted comment to Geno after learning of his release.

"@GenoSmith3 in case things don’t work out in free agency we’re looking for a Chief Tasting Officer."

That's not a bad job if I do say so myself.

Now, often when players get tagged in things on social media, it's met with silence.

However, not this time, as Geno responded in the best way possible.

"Get ya cheese up 1st," Smith responded, as he referenced Wendy's declining sales over the last quarter.

We don't often see that sort of back-and-forth on social media, as players can often be ridiculed for such things, but it is clear that Geno isn't too bothered by it.

In fact, he's taking his recent release in his stride, and now the hunt is on for a new NFL home in 2026.

Where that will be is unknown, as his days as a starter are likely over after his tough time in Vegas.

Still, there are more than enough teams that are in the market for a competent, veteran quarterback to play backup to their starter.

So over the coming months, Smith will likely have to bide his time as he searches for his next NFL move.

And if one doesn't come along, he always has Wendy's as a backup plan.
