Plagued by turnovers against San Francisco, Sam Darnold must fix his decisiveness before facing a ball-hawking Denver defense in a high-stakes, short-week road test at Mile High.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold wasn't exactly the most popular player after the 32-29 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Darnold's turnover problem has again reared its ugly head, with the veteran throwing two interceptions against the 49ers, taking his tally to five in just four games.

That is a little concerning.

But the Seahawks, despite those two interceptions and two George Holani fumbles, were driving late to tie the game. But Cooper Kupp was deemed short of the line to gain on fourth down.

So, they were still in with a shot.

Now, on a short week, traveling to Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos on Thursday night, Darnold revealed what lesson he learned from the 49ers loss, and maybe we might see a change in approach in Denver.

"Obviously short week, we're rolling," Darnold said. "Just another opportunity to out there and play good football. Obviously, learned a lot from last week, just got to be a little bit more decisive and continue to put the ball in play, get the ball moving forward on first and second down."

And this Denver defense isn't exactly one that Darnold will want to see off the back of his turnover issues.

Vance Joseph's unit has managed seven turnovers in five games, with three of them coming last week against the Los Angeles Chargers.

So, the Broncos know how to take the ball away, and if there ever was a game where Darnold can't turn the ball over, it's this one. On the road, in a hostile environment, the last thing you want to do is let Joseph's defense get a read on you.

That's a recipe for disaster.

Fans will hope that Darnold's turnover problem doesn't become a hindrance on a consistent basis as it did against the 49ers, because at 3-2, Seattle is still in good enough shape, but given the state of the division and the Seahawks' next two opponents (Denver and Kansas City), things could go south in a hurry.

For now, the plan is clear.

Be more decisive, get the ball moving downfield on first and second down, which sounds easy enough, but as we know, once an NFL defense a read on your weakness, they hunt it.

And you better believe that Denver will be doing that Thursday night.
