The Seahawks guard has loved life under Fleury this offseason.
There has been a lot of change for the Seattle Seahawks this offseason after their Super Bowl win.
Personnel-wise, the franchise said goodbye to Kenneth Walker, Riq Woolen, Boye Mafe, and Coby Bryant, and coach-wise, maybe the biggest loss overall was offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
Now with the Las Vegas Raiders as head coach, the Seahawks' offense will have a new voice, and that is former San Francisco 49ers coach Brian Fleury, who takes over the coordinator role.
We have already heard of Sam Darnold speaking glowingly of Fleury as the pair have gotten down to business at OTAs, and now here comes guard Grey Zabel.
Sometimes a coordinator change can cause a big upheaval, and it can be a little tough, at least initially, to master the new scheme so players can play fast.
But as Zabel details, despite the coordinator change, things have remained roughly the same.
"I would say it feels extremely close to being the same," Zabel said. "He does an awesome job blending kind of his version with our version to make it simple and easy for us to understand.
And that's kudos to Fleury for doing that. He's an unbelievable coordinator, as you can tell this spring. He's really brilliant in what he does, and I'm super excited this fall to get going."
So, in theory, the Seahawks' offensive scheme remaining relatively the same means that there shouldn't be too much of a drop-off in production.
But as we know, Fleury will have a different way of scheming players open, different verbiage, and a different way of coaching.
However, it appears that Fleury's way of getting his point across and how he likes to get things done isn't too dissimilar to Kubiak's. So things are roughly the same, and as we know, that only means good things for the Seahawks.
Yes, there will be different wrinkles thrown in by Fleury as he will likely bring some of what San Francisco does to Seattle, so the offense won't be exactly the same as it was under Kubiak.
The Seahawks will be tasked with defending their Super Bowl title in 2026, and one way to give themselves the best shot is to maintain as much continuity as possible.
Which, by the sounds of it, they are getting on offense.
