Kenneth Walker found his way to the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency, and former Seahawk Richard Sherman thinks the move is good for both sides.

The Seattle Seahawks knew it was going to be tough to keep running back Kenneth Walker, and thus, it turned out to be true.

As free agency began, Walker didn't last long on the open market, landing with the Kansas City Chiefs on a three-year deal that could be worth up to $45 million.

That is clearly a price the Seahawks didn't want to pay, and rightly so.

The reactions to Walker's move to Kansas City have been mixed.

Some think Kenneth won't cure all of the Chiefs' ailments, while others wish the Seahawks had gone a little harder in trying to keep Walker.

But it appears one person likes the move.

And that's Super Bowl-winning corner and former Seahawk, Richard Sherman. In fact, Sherman likes the move...for both teams.

“They lose the Super Bowl MVP, which is something I predicted because of the number that he was going to get to,” Sherman said on the “The Richard Sherman Podcast.“ “I thought other teams, like the Kansas City Chiefs, would be higher on him and have a higher number. And he gets what I believe is the highest per year for a free agent running back in the history of the National Football League at $15 million a year. And he deserves it.

“He’s going to go out there and do fantastic for the Chiefs, and I think the Seattle Seahawks will be fine. I don’t think this is going to be something that is incredibly detrimental to what they have going. I think this is a situation where what’s best for both sides kind of happened.”

The big question is what the Seahawks do now.

Zach Charbonnet is likely to miss a significant chunk of the 2026 season after tearing his ACL late in the year. Plus, there's no Walker.

Will the Seahawks look at a bargain free agent, someone like Kenneth Gainwell, as a possible option? Maybe. They need someone.

Of course, the draft is always an option. How many times have we seen a fourth or fifth-round running back come in on Day 1 and be productive? Maybe that is an avenue the Seahawks will go down.

The move for the Chiefs is great as it helps solidify their run game with a bona fide star.

For Seattle, the price was too steep, so it moved on.

As Sherman stated, it was best for both sides.
