The Seahawks dismantled the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, but it came at a cost.

The Seattle Seahawks made a statement on Sunday night at Lumen Field, taking down the previously undefeated Kansas City Chiefs 20-3 in a performance that will make the rest of the NFL take notice.

The Seahawks were dominant on defense, getting after Patrick Mahomes and, at one point, holding the Chiefs to just 17 yards in the second quarter.

So yeah, it was a dominant performance that we had become accustomed to last season, and now the Seahawks move to 4-3 after snapping their two-game losing streak.

However, it did come at a cost.

Receiver Rashid Shaheed and tackle Charles Cross both suffered injuries in the game, with fans fearing the worst.

However, it appears the Seahawks might have gotten some luck, with head coach Mike Macdonald stating via Gregg Bell that the "early returns are positive" on Shaheed's knee injury.

While for Cross, several reports indicate that he is expected to miss some time with a high ankle sprain, which isn't ideal.

The hope will be that both Shaheed and Cross won't miss too much time, and the early signs appear to be that Rashid will be back before Cross, but until further testing is done on the duo, we won't know the true extent of their injuries.

But even the pair's injuries won't dampen the performance the Seahawks put on film against the Chiefs.

Keeping Mahomes and Co. to just three points, and Kenneth Walker, in his emotional return, to just 36 yards on 14 carries.

Sam Darnold only had eight incompletions on the night, going 20 of 28 for 257 yards with 1 TD and an interception. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was again unstoppable, posting 150 receiving yards and a touchdown on nine receptions.

Emanuel Wilson was superb on the ground, rushing for 100 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.

After the last two weeks, this was the type of result the Seahawks desperately needed, and both sides of the ball came to the party.

The offense converted 11 of 16 third downs, while the defense allowed just three conversions, keeping the Chiefs to just 213 total yards and not allowing them to get into the red zone.

The defending champs appear to have woken up on Sunday night, and if they play like that more often, the Seahawks are going to be a scary team to face moving forward.
